The Curse of The Bambino

In the 1919-1920 offseason, the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth, also know as the Great Bambino, to the New York Yankees which sparked the Curse of the Bambino. After selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees, the Red Sox did not win another Championship for 86 years. It was a period full of heartbreaks for everyone including the players and the fans. The causes were many — bad management decisions, unfortunate errors, and an almost-ironic amount of incredible bad-luck. In 2004, the Red Sox broke the curse after coming back from a 0-3 deficit against the New York Yankees in the ALCS. After winning the ALCS, the Red Sox moved on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.
